Behind your lens
Learning to see is not the same as learning to take photographs.
Technique can be taught in an afternoon. Seeing - really seeing - takes a lifetime. And it is the most rewarding journey a creative person can make.
For twenty years and across six countries, light has been my teacher. I have learned that the photographers who move us are not those with the best equipment - they are the ones who have learned to feel what they see.
That is what I teach.
Not just how to use a camera. How to read light. How to trust your eye. How to understand the human experience behind every photographic choice because once you do, you stop capturing images and start speaking in light.
Whatever brings you here, you are in the right place.
First, we see.
Night and day, light and shade, just as life bows to change ‘A Love Affair with Light’ does the same.
My Substack is where the journey continues. Week by week, quality by quality, one light at a time. Each post explores a different way of seeing: what a particular light does, where to find it, and what it reveals about the world and about you.
It is not a course. It is not a challenge. It is a year of living alongside light - and learning, gradually, to speak it.
Every post is written for anyone who has ever felt pulled toward the light without quite knowing why. For paid subscribers, we go deeper into what it means to see, feel, capture and live with beautiful intention.
Join me there. The wondering light is always on.
