Typically Thai… in Malaysia

Learning to prepare and cook delicious Thai food on the edge of a tropical rainforest sound like a great thing to do on a Friday morning? Absolutely!

This morning twelve eager students arrived, donned aprons, attentively listened to instructions and then swiftly set their noses to the grind stone… or, well, their pestle to the mortar at least.

As a delicious infusion of coriander seeds, lemongrass and kaffir lime filled the air, six different Thai classics were handmade (and later devoured) from the freshest of local ingredients including Gai Sarong, Tom Yum Kung, Green Mango Salad and ofcourse everyone’s favourite Green Chicken Curry. Masterchef eat your heart out, these women were starting to get serious.

And all this just a short drive from Kuala Lumpur’s beating heart. Bayan Indah is an oasis of lush green forest and calming streams, with it’s beautifully decorated and fantastically equipped kitchen this was a not only a culinary retreat but indeed a culinary treat.
